Red Pepperoni: New Downtown Pizzeria

The Newly Opened Red Pepperoni Pizzeria. 842 West Main St. Madison, Ind.

If you’re like me, you might assume Madison has enough pizza. But when the owners of the Red Pepper Deli opened a sister restaurant, I had to check it out. After two visits in three days, I’m becoming a fan.

When I say downtown, I mean the West end of Main Street. The new pizzeria is on the corner of West Main and Cragmont – right across the street from The Red Pepper.

This same building has housed a handful of pizza places, including Chicago’s Pizza for several years. With the latest remodel this new eatery should stick around.

Interior view of the Red Pepperoni Pizzeria

The interior feels more like a sports bar, with large screen flat screens on every wall. They were tuned to ESPN as one might expect. The lunch crowd was light, but word is just getting out about the new place. In fact, the owners are still building their staff.

I received prompt service and unlimited hospitality on both my visits. The food was excellent and fresh to order. I tried their RPD Special – pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. It did not disappoint and stuck with the same order on my subsequent visit.

Closer look at the RPD Specialty Pizza

  4. Richard Sanders says:

We always enjoy the food and service is terrific. We think it is the best tasting pizza in Madison.

  5. They have high quality ingredients, and they make their own sauces. I definitely recommend anything with their homemade ranch.

  6. Kristin says:

I have been there a couple of times now with my family and we have been extremely satisfied at each visit. We’ve each tried something a little different with each visit, to allow for a variety of future choices. I highly recommend the Italian Sub, the house dressing -with your salad of choice-is phenomenal! The flavor is different than any other dressing I have tried, in a good way! My husband speaks highly of the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza, and I can tell you the ranch has an extra kick for great flavor as well. My picky eating 7 year old has tried a few different options on pizza as well…straying from the usual cheese only and she has eaten every bite…that in my book says it all!

  7. R & M says:

    Absolutely the BEST PIZZA ever!

  8. Best pizza in town now! The pizza is very fresh tasting and the sandwiches are awesome. You can’t go wrong here.

  9. Mike says:
