Phi Theta Kappa Block Party at Ivy Tech in Madison

Mark your calendars for June 14th, 2011 from 11 am to 2pm! Everyone is invited to attend the Madison chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society’s first annual block party to be held at  Madison’s Ivy Tech campus located on the hilltop at 590 Ivy Tech Drive, across Clifty Drive from Wal-Mart and the River Pointe Shopping Center.

The event is being held in an effort to raise funds for the Madison Ivy Tech Campus’ Relay For Life Team and for Ruth Haven House, a half-way house for women who are struggling to overcome drug and alcohol addiction.

Admission is free as is the live entertainment being provided by local band The Folkjammers,who are helping out by donating their time. Food and drink in the form of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, soft drinks and bottled water will be sold.  Prices will be $3.50 for a hot dog, chips and drink and $4.00 for a hamburger with chips and a drink.

There will also be a cornhole tournament open to any current student of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, from any of the school’s campuses.  The registration fee for the the tournament will be $2 per two member team. With prizes to be announced on the day of the event.

The City of Madison is donating the use of picnic tables and a tent for the block party.

Sounds like a good time in support of some good causes.
