Travel Guide to Madison from the National Parks Service

madison-nps-siteOver the past few weeks, I’ve noticed the NPS.gov website roll out their essays & visitor’s guide to Madison.

This excellent series of short articles describes the history, architectural, and tourist sites in our community. All counted, their guide has over 25 webpages.

Whatever the case, it’s a good resource for visitors and locals alike.

The Madison, Indiana Discover Our Shared Heritage Travel Itinerary was produced by the National Park Service’s Heritage Education Services and Midwest Regional Office History and National Historic Landmarks Program, in partnership with the City of Madison and the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers. It was created under the direction of Carol D. Shull, Chief, Heritage Education Services, National Park Service. The Madison, Indiana travel itinerary is based primarily on registration information on historic places in the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks collections.
