Coming Tuesday,June 28th,the City of Madison will be holding a FREE screening of the movie “Madison” at Bicentennial Park in downtown Madison located along Vaughn Drive and West Street.
The movie will be preceded by a performance from the Madison Concert Band,aka the Bicentennial Band,at 7 p.m. with the film to follow at dark.
For those few who may not know; “Madison” was filmed primarily in and around the Madison,IN area. The movie recounts the events of the 1971 Gold Cup hydroplane race which driver Jim McCormick won in the community owned boat the “Miss Madison U-6″. The film was shot in 2000 with post production work finishing in 2001. Eventually getting a limited release from MGM on April 22,2005.
