May 2012
- River Roots: Music & Folk Art Festival (May 18-20). Riverfront between West Street and Broadway. Formerly know as the Ohio River Folk Festival, this event combines music, food, storytelling, folk art, and a family atmosphere. Buy your tickets in advance and learn more at the official website.
- Spring Old Court Days (25-27). Street fair surrounding the Madison Courthouse. Browse the arts & crafts, collectibles, antiques, food booths, farmer’s market & more all around the Courthouse. 9AM-6PM. Free admission. Saturday Fish Fry, Sponsored by the Madison Pilot Club, 812/273-6226.
- Madison Regatta Riverfront Run Car Show (Saturday, May 26). Car show featuring numerous vehicle classes, awards, trophies. Rain or Shine. Madison’s Riverfront on Vaughn Drive. Call Kim Washer at 812-599-6635.
July 2012
- Regatta Parade (July 6) Friday, July 6 – 6:15pm on Main Street
- Madison Regatta 2012 (July 6 – 8, 2012) Every July thousands of guests converge on the Madison riverfront to watch the Madison Regatta, also known as the Indiana Governor’s Cup. This hydroplane boat race and is the first official race of the H1 Unlimited season. The Regatta festival has several community events leading up to the race. - Jefferson County 4-H Fair (June 6-14) At the county fairgrounds. 4-H events, grandstand, food booths, midway. 812-265-8919
- Lanier Days (June 16-17) This annual event celebrates the life and culture of early Victorian-era Madison, Indiana, with thundering cannons! Lanier Days at the Lanier Mansion State Historic Site features mock Civil War battles, Historic Trades Fair, children’s activities, interesting historical talks and music. 10am-4pm each day. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 per child. Lanier Mansion State Historic Site, 601 West First Street. For more info.812.273.0556.
September 2012
- Chautauqua Festival of Arts 2012 (Sept 29 & 30) This is a unique event to our community that highlights the strong cultural tradition of arts, crafts, and entertainment in Madison. Thousands of visitors browse over 250 exhibits. The 2010 Madison Chautauqua is scheduled for September every year. You can learn more on the official website.
August 2012
- Ribberfest 2012 (August 17-18) Amazing food and Blues music along the riverfront. Visit their official website for more details.
December 2012
